CALL TO PRAYER FOR UKRAINE!
I realize that there are many “calls to prayer” so I am not rallying us to a specific date and time.
I am however calling upon you to “pray without ceasing” for those who cannot pray for themselves.
The following is a excerpt from a Nazarene pastor in Ukraine...
"It was another difficult day. It is the middle of the night here in the shelter in Kyiv. I sit in front of God with a heavy heart. I don’t pray. I have no words to express all my pain with words after all I have seen today.
Twice today I heard a similar expression from two different people: It seems to me that we are living in a terrible dream and tomorrow we will wake up and everything will be as before. It’s just that tomorrow never comes. And every day brings more pain and frustration and this pain sits somewhere deep inside, in my chest and tears my soul to shreds. I want to say something to God…I open my mouth…but there are no words. Today I stopped praying for peace. This is a beautiful Christian prayer for those who live in an ideal world. And in my situation, I just ask God for mercy to survive one more night. I ask for strength to keep moving forward from crisis to crisis, from one difficult situation to another"
So, my friends, let us now pray for those folk who can’t pray for themselves, let us lift up their arms, let us share the burden, not a date and time sharing, but a minute by minute prayer assault that matches the minute by minute uncertainty that the people of Ukraine are facing.
God Bless you,
